Pivotal Tracker

If you happen to use Pivotal Tracker as your project tracking tool, you can get your source control commit messages linked to your stories as changesets.

Enabling Pivotal Tracker Integration

  • Head over to your XP-Dev.com project's Repository tab
  • Click on the Pivotal Tracker sub-tab
  • Click on Edit Pivotal Tracker Integration Options

Edit Pivotal Tracker

  • You can either enter your Pivotal Tracker token (retrieved from your Pivotal Tracker profile page) or simply enter your Pivotal Trakcer username (usually an email address) and password. XP-Dev.com will try to retrieve your API token.
  • Click on Save

Pivotal Tracker Settings

Whenever you commit a new revision in your XP-Dev.com repository, you should see a changeset in your Pivotal Tracker project. Please remember that your stories in Pivotal Tracker will need to have estimates on them for this to work.

Smart Commit Messages

Pivotal Tracker does support smart commit messages and these work perfectly fine with XP-Dev.com repositories.

Do have a look at their documentation which explains how you can contruct your commit messages to link with stories and even control them.

Disabling Pivotal Tracker Integration

  • Head over to your XP-Dev.com project's Repository tab
  • Click on Edit Pivotal Tracker Integration Options
  • Uncheck the box next to Pivotal Tracker Integration Enabled
  • Click on Save
